With one in four people (MHF, 2012) experiencing poor mental health in the course of a year, looking after our mental health has never been more important or relevant.
It is now estimated to cost the UK economy some £88 billion as a result of poor mental health in the workplace. Despite this figure, employers generally remain ‘reactive’ in terms how they manage this. Sadly, many employees who present with poor mental health and who eventually come to the notice of their Managers, have already been experiencing poor mental health for some time. Often, by this time, intervention is absolutely necessary if they are to avoid being signed off as sick.
Frequently however, the employees mental health has deteriorated to the extent that they are no longer able to perform their duties.
Sea Sanctuary can provide support in this area with a number of different programmes available to support the workforce. We can deliver programmes on:
- Resilience building
- Adjusting to change
- Managing stress
The above courses can be delivered either afloat or at the workplace and ‘taster’ sessions are available upon request.
