As an organisation, we firmly believe that access to our sailing programme can have enormous benefits for veterans.
We can offer:
- Adventure Therapy – simply sailing with a focus on team building and soft-skill development
- Sail into Life – our main programme designed to improve well-being
- Respite – time out with an emphasis on relaxation
If you are a veteran and wish to sail with us, we might be able to secure funding for your placement. This could also include travel costs and, where necessary, a B&B either end of the placement. We would need some further information from you to determine whether this is possible.
Emotional Well-being Programme (for children and young people):
The Emotional Well-being Programme addresses key areas in the well-being of children and young people, namely emotional intelligence, building self esteem, friendship, coping with stress and healthy well-being. The full programme is run as a residential placement although there is an option for day programmes, covering specific topics.
A typical day for this programme entails a mixture of sailing and activities (games, tasks, discussions) addressing key areas.
“Take the Helm”
This 5 day residential project is aimed at young people between the ages of 16-19 who are NEET (not in education, employment or training) young people, and is currently OPEN for applications. The purpose of this programme is to equip young people with additional and transferable skills, thus supporting their transition into employment, education, training, apprenticeships or voluntary placements.
‘Take the Helm’ is delivered in an informal style, drawing on the latest research for the improvement of well-being, identifying barriers to progression, improving communication skills and achieving sustainable results.

‘Activity Therapy’, ‘Sailing as a medium for increasing self confidence’ and ‘The effects of physical activity on mental health’, all demonstrate that the type of service we offer really does work. Indeed our own feedback has not only been 100% positive, we have noted a significant improvement in the general well-being of our clients. We use validated means of evaluation which allow us to keep an accurate track of service outcomes.
