Funding the Placement

Financing of Sea Sanctuary Sail into Life Placement

Details of the specific tariff costs can found found on the respective referral forms which can be downloaded from the website.

Our service is mainly funded through our fund-raising efforts.

The funding does not however cover our full running costs which include, boat maintenance, repairs, mooring, boat equipment, staff salaries, office rent, travel expenses for volunteers and clients. As a result, it is necessary to charge for accessing our service with the amount depending upon the circumstances of the client. In some cases, we can offer bursaries (the placement will be heavily subsidised) where there is little prospect of a client or a referring party raising funds to pay for the placement.

If we are able to offer such a bursary, we ask that the individual also makes a small contribution to the costs, based on their income. Please be aware that the number of bursaries are limited and there can be a waiting list for such places. Please contact us for further details.

Community Psychiatric Nurse support

People wishing to use our service who currently have support from a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN), may be eligible for funding. This should be discussed with the CPN at referral stage; if funding is available ask your CPN to complete an Agency Referral form.

Other Support Agencies

We ask that people wishing to use our service who have support from other agencies (for example, support with housing, mental health, addiction, single parents), discuss the possibility of funding assistance from their support agency. We would ask that issues of funding are discussed at the earliest opportunity.

Out of County referrals

Costs are shown on the respective referral forms; please contact the office for further details.

Please remember- Sea Sanctuary is a charity and we always strive to keep our costs to an absolute minimum.
