Our Boats

In December 2013 we purchased the 1925 Danish fishing boat GRACE.
For the first part of her sailing life she fished the North Sea as far as Iceland and Greenland. During this time she was known as BIKEA.

In 1989 she was converted to charter use in Southampton and was renamed TANGAROA. In 2006 she moved to Bristol and continued working as a charter boat.

She is a top masted gaff ketch and looks spectacular, boasting 60ft on deck and 85ft overall.

Grace is used for our main Sail Into Life programme, running 5 day sails. We are also aiming to start doing longer and more adventurous trips to the Scilies, Northern France and maybe as far as Scotland. We have also had a lot of interest shown by local diving and kayaking clubs, so we think Grace could be very busy in 2014/15.

Our Charity

Sea Sanctuary is an innovative marine based service and is the first of its kind in European waters.

We provide an evidence-based intervention combined with the exhilarating activity of Sail Training. Sea Sanctuary operates within the stunning waters of the Cornish coast.

Our service provides an experiential learning experience and we routinely achieve outstanding results. Sea Sanctuary is available to anyone within the UK (subject to an assessment).

Sea Sanctuary seeks to address the very real issue of mental health well-being for those who most need it.
